When Iron Woods came to VONT as a leading brand in hardwood products, they sought a user-friendly and visually stunning website that would match the strength of their brand. The company had had a recent logo redesign, and a new website would allow us to nail down a brand story and supporting visual elements. We needed to establish a strong web presence for Iron Woods that would close the loop on leads through an engaging and informative user experience and reinforce the dependability and consistency the company was known for.
A competitive website analysis showed that similar companies were breathing life into their inventory through hi-res product and project shots. Architects, builders, and home-owners alike would be intent on the aesthetic value of the products they were considering, so this website redesign called for images to shine and showcase the quality wood and products offered. Fortunately, Iron Wood's library of beautiful photography was plentiful, and the design would feature large, breathtaking visuals to leave users feeling inspired to take the next step. I created a custom icon set to further the highly visual language of the site.
Beneath the aesthetics of the site, there was an abundance of product specifications that needed to be easily accessible for those who needed it, but not overwhelm a less technical user. A restructured information architecture was the first step in organizing the plethora of information and tabbed interfaces were utilized throughout the site to keep the content streamlined.
In the end, the new website would increase audience engagement, close leads, and represent the quality and dependability that Iron Woods was synonymous with. The team was so pleased that they came back to VONT with a website design request for their parent company, Coastal Forest Products.
Let's work together.
